Cells Extracted From Urine – Video

Cells Extracted From Urine
Scientists develop ways to extract cells from urine. Cells from urine can be used instead of embryonic stem cells to produce neurons in the brain. This method may be used in the future to treat neurological disorders like Alzheimer #39;s and Parkinson #39;s disease. Stem-cell biologist Duanqing Pei along with researchers from Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health in China has shown that kidney cells from urine can be turned into neural progenitor cells. Embryonic stem cells are unstable and run the risk of turning into noncancerous tumors. The researchers cultured the urine cells with bacterial DNA, which might be a way to lower the risk of tumors. The benefits of using the urine stem cells rather than embryonic or non-embryonic stem cells is that this noninvasive method can collect samples from patients more easily, the danger of the neurons from the urine samples producing tumor cells is lower and the process of making them in a lab is more efficient for neural cells. Scientists have found that stem cells used to treat neurological disorders can be effective when snorted rather than being transplanted through invasive surgery. There are currently no FDA approved stem cell treatments for neurological disorders.From:GeoBeatsNewsViews:1 0ratingsTime:01:11More inNews Politics

They discuss why overcoming barriers are essential in improving your eyesight and encourage making a list of your own barriers to doing eye exercises. They then go into detail on two prominent barriers doubt and time. In the question of the week they respond to a Facebook post asking about testing vision when it changes from blurry vision to clear vision.From:envisionselfhealingViews:0 0ratingsTime:43:19More inPeople Blogs

PLEASE SEND THE LETTER BELOW TO YOUR US SENATORS! We are writing to encourage the FDA and the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) to approve a clinical trial of mesenchymal stem cell derived neural progenitors (MSC-NPs) in the treatment of Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (SPMS). The initial 20 person trial will be conducted at the Multiple Sclerosis Research Center of New York (MSRCNY) under the direction of Dr. Saud Sadiq, neurologist and director of the MSRCNY. Dr. Sadiq was previously the head of Neurology at St. Luke #39;s Roosevelt Hospital in New York City (NYC). In 2006, he started this research center in NYC working only on MS. In November 2011, the MSRCNY received approval from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the International Cellular Medicine Society (ICMS) to conduct this trial for patients with SPMS, the first of its kind ever done in the US. This trial is very specialized as it uses a patient #39;s own adult stem cells that are removed from the patient #39;s breast bone marrow, grown, isolated and injected into the spinal fluid (intrathecal) where the disease attacks the myelin. The trial will last for 3 years with stem cell treatments every 3 months for the first year and potentially more, depending on the many evaluations to determine physical and mental progress. MSRCNY requested approval in the past and is currently seeking approval for this trial AGAIN!! We are at a breakthrough point in the treatment of patients with SPMS. cord blood | Cord Blood Banking - Your Biological Insurance Policy
http://www.cordbloodrecommendation.com Most therapies that require cord blood also require multiple infusions. A doctor might choose cord blood because of some of the ways it differs from marrow or peripheral blood. Cord blood stem cells are also regarded as life line of human body as they have the potential to fight against deadly diseases. Perhaps a family member will cover the cost for you. Traditionally, they receive transplant from a donor via bone marrow transplant or direct normal blood transfusion. You can always decide later to not continue to store your baby #39;s blood and all you will be out is the cost. This is the reason cord blood stem cell treatments are exposed to lesser risk of graft versus host disease. There are people who are against this practice as well and there are many opinions supporting it too therefore it is best to consult your doctor regarding this issue and get the right advice. These special cells obtained from the blood in the placenta or umbilical cord after childbirth can potentially provide numerous benefits to the baby. Cord blood storage might become a new trend very soon. Researchers have found out that the umbilical cord which was discarded right after the birth of a child can serve the purpose of a bone marrow donor by supplying blood-forming or hematopoietic stem cells. Stems cells are the basic building blocks for every organ in the body. This cord blood contains lots of stem cells. An unusual container carries the cord blood to the cord ...From:kristinagraddyViews:0 0ratingsTime:01:13More inScience Technology
