Sanctuary Season 4 Trailer
Stem cells, gene therapy, transplants, cloning... the very meaning of the word #39;humanity #39; changes daily in the modern world. But there is a darker side to the evolution of mankind, a truth only a few brave souls are willing to face: There are monsters loose in the world. And they are the key to the future of our race. Each one-hour episode of Sanctuary follows the adventures of the beautiful and enigmatic Dr. Helen Magnus and her team at the Sanctuary as they track down, study and try to help the strange and often terrifying creatures that secretly populate our world. Aided by forensic psychiatrist Dr. Will Zimmerman (ROBIN DUNNE), techno-whiz Henry Foss (RYAN ROBBINS), her fearless daughter Ashley (EMILIE ULLERUP) along with her butler, and dear friend Bigfoot (CHRISTOPHER HEYERDAHL), Magnus and her team use their unique combination of instinct, medicine and cutting-edge science and technology to find the creatures that the world refuses to believe exist. Season two also introduces Kate Freelander (AGAM DARSHI) into the fold, a quick-talking con-artist who has more than a few tricks up her sleeve. Kate #39;s uneasy relationship to the Cabal could prove useful for Magnus in her search for Ashley, but her less-than-trustworthy track record may cause far more damage than her intel is worth. Sanctuary is helmed by Executive Producer/Creator/Writer Damian Kindler, Executive Producer/Lead Actor Amanda Tapping and Executive Producer/Director Martin Wood. In addition, for season two ...

A Catholic View: The Science of Stem Cells. Finding Cures and Protecting Life
Michigan Catholic Conference video published May 29, 2012 In an effort to communicate the relationship between stem cell research and the Catholic Church #39;s teaching on human life, this 12-minute DVD was distributed to every registered Catholic home in Michigan. The video explains the differences between adult and embryonic stem cell research. While adult stem cell treatments are acceptable, the Catholic Church finds embryonic stem cell research and therapies as morally unacceptable. Patient testimonials and interviews with adult stem cell researchers are featured.

What are the important issues when it comes to cartilage repair… Things you need to know! – Video

What are the important issues when it comes to cartilage repair... Things you need to know!
http://www.stemcellsarthritistreatment.com The first is to know that whatever method is used is effective in building articular cartilage. There are two types of cartilage, hyaline cartilage which is the tough gristle that caps the ends of long bones and fibrocartilage which is the softer cartilage which is found in knee meniscus, and the labral tissue of the shoulder and hip. The second issue is what type of cell to use. Adult autologous mesenchymal stem cells are the ones that are easiest to harvest and to use. But are they the most effective? Allogeneic donor cells may prove to be a more viable source, providing graft versus host reactions will not be an issue. How do we ensure stem cell survival in the hostile environment of an arthritic joint? The use of growth factors and other "protective" factors need to be considered. What is the optimal condition that will ensure a good outcome? Much work has been done in the field of biomaterial scaffolding. Is it really necessary? While in vitro studies and small animal studies appear promising, no definitive human studies have been done. It will be important to make sure that whatever new cartilage is made with stem cells adheres to the underlying bone. What will be the longevity and durability of the new cartilage matrix? http
